William Murdock

William Robert Murdock, 54, of Raeford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2026. Born on October 11, 1971, in Dunn, NC, William was the son of Phyllis and James Murdock, who preceded him in death.

A skilled and devoted carpenter, William spent his life building not only with his hands but with his heart, creating spaces, memories, and moments that will be cherished by all who knew him. He found joy in simple, steady pleasures: fishing, working with wood, and spending time outdoors. His quiet humor, gentle nature, and steady presence were constants in the lives of those he loved.

William is survived by his three children: Samantha and her husband, Bobby Finley, of Tennessee; Victoria Murdock of NC; and William Murdock of Aberdeen, NC. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Benjamin, and James of Tennessee; Virginia, Gracie Lynn, and Avery of NC. He is also survived by his siblings: Tonya Ramage and her family of Georgia; and Christopher Murdock and his family of Texas.

William's life was one of quiet strength, steady work, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hands he taught, the laughter he shared, and the memories held close by all who knew him.

He will be laid to rest beside his parents at Raeford City Cemetery.
