Agnes and Bill Yost were my parents' (Gene and Joe Moore) neighbors in Raleigh for many years. Although I was in college when my parents moved into the neighborhood, I feel like I knew Mr. and Mrs. Yost my whole life! When I got married in 1986, Mrs. Yost hosted my bridesmaid's luncheon at her home. As you can imagine, she thought of every elegant detail, including choosing a poem for each bridesmaid to read aloud. After my father died, Mr. and Mrs. Yost remained the best of friends to my mom. At the birth of each of my children, she selected a beautiful book of poetry. Everything Mrs. Yost did, she did with the utmost care, attention and kindness. Her kindness will always be remembered. Please know that I will be with you all in spirit tomorrow. Rest in peace, Mrs. Yost.

Our parents, Gene and Joe Moore, were Agnes and Bill's next door neighbors on Marlowe Road for many years and Mom was in the room next to Agnes at Stewart Health for the past 18 months, dieing only two weeks before Agnes' death. Agnes and Bill were dear, dear friends to our whole family. After Dad died, Agnes and Bill thoughtfully cared for Mom in many ways, one example being that Bill brought Mom's newspaper from the driveway right to her front door every single morning, without fail. Agnes hosted the Bridesmaid's luncheons for both my sister and me in her usual thoughtful, meticulously planned, and beautiful way. Agnes was a treasure- smart, compassionate, interested in the people around her and in the world, devoted to those she cared about. We always heard about her beloved nieces and we wish them comfort as they grieve the los of such a unique and dear person.
