Amos was born November 9, 1919 in New Bern, North Carolina to Moses and Annie Moore Dillahunt. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army and worked with the US Postal Service.
He is survived by his sons, Ajamu Dillahunt and his wife, Rukiya of Raleigh; and Richard Dillahunt Sr. and his wife Delma, of Richmond, VA; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great granchildren and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held near Gloucester, Va., where he resided for 32 years after retirement, on Saturday, January 29th at 1PM at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Newport News at 765 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. There will be no viewing of his remains at the memorial service.
