Gustave was a born, raised and a proud North Carolinian, since his birth, September 3, 1992, in Raleigh North Carolina. Everyone who came in contact with Gustave, confirmed he was an out of the box personality with a tenacious and contagious sense of humor.
Aside from having the utmost of presence, Gustave was known for always being dependable and constantly there for anyone in need. Above all else, Gustave’s heart was filled with an unprecedented immense love, for his family and four legged friends.
Gustave’s fondest memories, are that surrounded by his Father, Andrew Jackson Finch Jr, His Mother, Sally Boyd-Finch and his Sister, Karrica Elizabeth Christina Finch.
As a toddler, Mr. Andrew Finch would pick Gustave up, from Mother’s-day-out, and spend the rest of the day on Franklin Street, in Chapel Hill. The Finch family has a long history of past alumni at UNC, which is where Gustave’s love for the Tar-heels began. Saturday games, with pizza, diet cokes, the dogs and his Pops. No game went unattended.
From the moment Gustave came into this world, his luminous smile was infectious. Mrs., Sally Finch always boasted how Gustave’s smile melted her heart and brightened any day. A smile that came from the inside out, paired with those big brown eyes and luscious lashes. Made Gustave puddy in his mother’s arms.
Gustave shared an extremely close bond with his older sister, Karrica Finch. The Brother -Sister pair, practically did everything together. From Karrica teaching Gustave to ride a bike, long nights playing basketball, traveling or hours spent just being in each other’s presence.
Although Gustave was the younger of the two siblings, he always called Karrica, his Big-Little-Sister. As he was willing to do any and everything to protect her, at all costs. As she would and has for him.
Friendship, to Gustave, was seen as an addition to his immediate family. Those who came close to him, were welcomed with open arms. Of course, after following the Finch Family test of endurance! The two that made the cut, and forever his ride-or-dies, are Christopher Latridis and Peter Kelly. Growing up, at any given time, Chris and Peter, were so involved in the Finch Family, the three boys were always considered as brothers. Gustave was filled with so much love, that every conversation was sure to involve, his parents, sister, Chris and or Peter.
Gustave attended, White Memorial, Lacy Elementary, Martin Middle, Oak Ride Military Academy, Kerr Vance Academy, Broughton High School, Wake-Tech and North Carolina State University. Recently, Gustave was starting his own General Contracting LLC with the intent to flip homes.
In addition to being filled with love, Gustave enjoyed quotes and bookmarked the following two:
“Everyone, should learn to do one thing supremely well because he likes it, and one thing supremely well because he detests it.”
– BRIGHAM YOUNG
“The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first hard work; second, stick -to-itiveness; third, common sense.”
– THOMAS EDISON.
The Finch Family would like to thank everyone for celebrating the beautiful life of Andrew Gusatve Finch. May his memory live on in our hearts forever and you always smile when you think of his name.
