Anna Martin Stockert

Anna graduated from East Carolina University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in History and French. She worked for Carolina Power and Light / Progress Energy utility company for 27 years and retired in 2005. After retiring, she worked for Precept Ministries International for 10 years.

Anna married Andy Stockert in 1999. Anna loved children. Since she was unable to have children of her own, the children of Mount Olivet adopted her as a “second” mother. In the first wedding picture made of Anna’s wedding to Andy, she was surrounded by the 22 children who considered her a second mom.

Anna led Precept Bible studies for 40 years. Her heart and passion was to teach and encourage men, women and children to learn how to study the Bible for themselves using the inductive Bible study method. Anna also loved participating in Bible study programs and conferences to encourage, and to be encouraged by other leaders and teachers. She loved sending birthday and special occasion cards to encourage her family and friends.

Anna is survived by her husband of 26 years, Andy Stockert.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 22 years, Larry Crockett, her parents, Clarence Martin and Beulah (Bee) Martin, and her brothers Richard Martin and Greg Martin.

Family and friends are invited to attend A Celebration of Life Service was held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC on Monday, May 11 at 2:00pm.

Visitation with the family begin at 12:00 noon. Interment followed at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7509 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC.
