

She was born on February 18, 1937 in Kerala, India, the daughter of the late Aleyamma and Verghese Kinattinkara. She was the 6th of 7 children, 5 of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Thakadiyil Mathew, her older son Anil, his wife Deepa and their children Andrew and Daniel, her younger son Vinod, his wife Viji and their children Ashley and Michael.
Annamma completed her nursing training at Holdsworth Memorial Hospital, Mysore City, India. She worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years, retiring as a surgical nurse from Mt Sinai Hospital in New York where she received the excellence in Nursing Practice award.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She loved to garden and had a very green thumb. She delighted in entertaining friends and family and never hesitated to offer help to those in need. Her lively personality and love of people made her a joy to be around. She was very much the center of her family and her unwavering faith throughout her life was an example to all. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 3.30pm to 5.30pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
Funeral services were held at 10am Monday, December 27, 2021 at North Carolina Mar-Thoma Church, 2773 Milburnie Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610, followed by a procession to the graveside service at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC 27612.
