

Anne Joyce Heck Fetner. Age 92, passed away peacefully at Sunrise Senior Living of Raleigh on Friday, November 15, 2024. She was born on June 18, 1932, in Middletown, Ohio to the late Mary and Raymond Heck.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jackson Fetner, and her siblings, William Heck (Cis), Betty Hughes (Gordon), James Heck (Joy), Tom Heck (Charlotte), and David Robert Heck (Ann).
She is survived by her sons Thomas Allen Fetner (Cynthia) and Timothy Charles Fetner (Belinda), grandsons Cameron Fetner and Matthew Fetner, her twin sister Jane Malsbary (Robert), sister Linda Frechette (Jerry), sister-in-law Ann Bishop Heck, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Anne was a 1950 graduate of Middletown High School and then attended Secretarial School in Buffalo, NY. She served as an executive secretary at the Sorg paper company in Middletown, OH.
In 1966, the family moved to Raleigh, NC and in 1979 she became the secretary for the newly elected State Representative, Robert Etheridge. She then held jobs in the property management field and retired from Hiller Properties in 2004.
Anne was active in the Raleigh community and was a member of the Turf Turners Garden Club of North Hills and was also active in Scouting. She served as a Cub Scout Den Leader and then as an Assistant District Commissioner for the Baden Powell District of the Occoneechee Council, earning the highest award in Scouting, the Silver Beaver. She was also very active in her Bridge Club.
Anne was a long-time member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church and served as her Sunday School President and volunteered for numerous events at the church.
She will be interred at Edenton Street United Methodist Church along with her husband, Charles, date and time to be determined.
