Ann Wahlen, 85, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord, on September 27, 2010, at her residence. She was born on September 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Marvin Royall and Mozelle Nipper Royall.
Ann retired from the NC Farm Bureau, and was a member of Andrews Chapel UMC, where she will be missed by her many friends.
She is survived by her son, Billy R. Wahlen and his wife Diane, and her beloved pet "Little Bit"; her brother in law, W.R. Austin. She will also be missed by her nieces Mia Austin Scoggins and husband David, Belinda Aldredge and husband Todd, and nephew John Young and wife Sandra, as well as many extended family. She was predeceased by her husband William L. Wahlen and sisters Clara Austin and Josephine Young.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 28, from 7-9 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Briercreek Memorial Gardens, ACC Blvd, Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Wake County. A special thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Hospice, especially her nurse Polly and her other caregivers.
