Barbara Ann Garrett

She graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas with a Degree in Home Economics.

She worked as a School Teacher in Northern Virginia, while her Husband Coy Garrett served in the US Army. After the birth of her children, she stayed at home as a Mother and Home Maker.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, painting and restoring furniture. She also enjoyed spending time in Nags Head, beside the ocean. After her illustrious time as a High School Basketball Player, she carried her passion for the sport to become an avid ACC College Basketball Fan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Coy Arthur Garrett; her son, Jim Sealy Garrett; her Parents, Leon “Penny” Stegall and Vida “Cotten” Stegall.

She is survived by her son, Jay Garrett and his wife Julie Garrett.

A Visitation will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 from 3 - 5pm at Mitchell Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 9:30am, at Mitchell Funeral Home, with a Graveside Service to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
