She met her husband Michael, on a blind date and they spent many happy years together with their children and grandchildren residing in New Jersey, Florida, California and finally, North Carolina.
Barbara was a devoted mother who enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, photography, and spending time with family. She was a registered nurse and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Centenary University.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Michael and her sister Leah Nigra. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Lisa Cardillo and her husband Peter, and her son, Michael La Sasso and his wife Karla. She will be remembered lovingly by her grandchildren: Nicole Hylton (spouse Jeremy), Alexandra Accardi, Gabrielle Wild, (spouse Michael), Lindsey La Sasso (spouse Mason) and Michael La Sasso, two great grandchildren: Jackson and Carter and cherished nieces and nephews.
