Our mom lived a full and busy life. She was the daughter of Richard and Edith Gordon. She grew up in Long Island and moved to different cities with her husband Don before settling in Toledo, OH. After the kids were grown, she went back to college at University of Toledo and finished her degree. She went on to own a business The Station Shop in Maumee, OH with partners Kathy and Pat. She also helped for many years planning and running the Maumee Summer fair. She remained an active tennis player until her mid 80’s always looking forward to her weekly clinics at Shadow Valley with her friends and JD.
Her biggest passion was her family. She was always there to help family members or people in her neighborhood. Her life long neighbors, Angie and Bob and their three daughters became family to her. She loved and supported her kids in whatever they did. Each of her six grandchildren went on a trip with her when they were younger and she let them choose the place to visit. She truly spent her life giving to other people without asking anything in return. Her nickname was the Iron Giant in the family.
In the last five years, she moved to Raleigh, NC to be close to Susan and Mason who did an amazing job in keeping her active in the community. She also cherished some of the dear friends she made at her apartment complex includung Fred and Margaret. She will be missed but her spirit will always be remembered. She is survived by son Dan (Dianna), daughters Susan (Mason), Laura (Ron), grandchildren Liz (Darren), Daniel (Kaitlyn), Kurt, Eric (Megan), Sam, great grandkids Rylee, Banks, Baker, Sophie, Chloe and Luke, brother-in-law John MacDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, sister Pat, brothers Greg, Richard and Allan. Also, grandson Al Brommer.
