Beatrice Mabel Hughes Seymour

Beatrice Mabel Hughes Seymour, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away December 2nd at the age of 89. She was the daughter of the late Julian Whiting and Beatrice Ellis Hughes of Clayton NC.

Beatrice’s most precious possession in life was her family. She is survived by: Sons, Steve Seymour and his wife, Susan, of Wake Forest, Rudy Seymour and his wife, Cindy of Raleigh, and Wesley Seymour and his wife, Sally of Hunt, TX and by a daughter, Martie Wells and her husband, Van of Columbia, SC. Grandchildren, Bill (Carly Caswell), Greg Seymour, Katherine Seymour Dysart (Garret), Katie Seymour, Wes Wells (Rachel Saldana), Colby Wells Grande (Michael) and Maggie Seymour Pinske (Jevin). Great grandchildren Bo Pinske and Reid Grande. Brothers, Curtis Hughes (Janet), Julian Hughes (Patricia), and sisters, Dorothy Avery, Faye Brooks, and Cecily Hobson. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband William Benjamin “Ben” Seymour, Jr. and her sister, Lou Chappelear.

Beatrice was a Godly woman whose life was committed to prayer and His Word. She was the pillar of our family and we will be forever blessed by the life she led and her unconditional love.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Mitchell’s Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC. A visitation will follow the burial at Raleigh Memorial Park.
