Benjamin Satar Popal

Benjamin Satar Popal, son of Faiz A. Popal and Cynthia Rowell Popal, brother of Jennifer Popal Cassidy (Ryan), fiancé to the future Hannah Diehl Popal, and with many loving aunties, uncles and cousins in the United States and around the world, passed away on April 10th, 2017 at 29 years old.

Ben was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on August 10, 1987. He graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in 2007 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro in 2015. He was a self-driven entrepreneur who could accomplish anything he put his mind to. He was a nature enthusiast and adventurer- from hiking the trails of Western Carolina to kayaking along the coast, and also exploring the hidden treasures in his home town- it was his sanctuary. Ben had a bright and beautiful spirit that positively impacted everyone; his gentle soul brought joy to so many, and is so loved by all. May his life be celebrated and remembered, always.

Condolences can be sent to Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on St. Mary’s Street, where service arrangements are being coordinated. A memorial service will be held at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27601, on April 22nd at 2:00pm. Friends and family are welcome to join a reception after the service, at Sullivan's Steakhouse on Glenwood, until 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to one of the following organizations: Highland United Methodist Church Youth Ministries (Raleigh) or the Conservation Trust for North Carolina.
