Beverly was born on January 9, 1937 to Rhoda and Joseph Karp in Schenectady, NY. Beverly attended Nott Terrace High School, Schenectady, NY and was a graduate of Russell Sage College in Troy, NY.
In 1956, Beverly met Arthur Lehrman on a blind date as an undergraduate while he was studying at Albany Medical College. Months later they were married in June 1957, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage before Arthur’s passing in 2017.
Beverly and Arthur lived in Rochester, MN while Arthur was a resident at the Mayo Clinic. Their three children, Marjorie, Robert, and James, were born at the Mayo Clinic. They moved to Syracuse, NY in 1966, where Arthur established his medical practice.
In the 1970’s, Beverly earned her Master’s of Library Science degree at Syracuse University. Beverly volunteered as a librarian for Temple Adath Yeshurun for many years and was active in the Temple sisterhood.
In 1996, they moved to West Palm Beach, FL where they enjoyed the first 10 years of retirement. In 2004, they relocated to Raleigh, NC to be closer to their grandchildren. They were members of Temple Beth Or.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother, Beverly is remembered by all for her easygoing nature and her loving smile.
