Carole went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 11, 2014. Carole was born September 30, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Winston Bryan Linam and Jeanne Roberts Linam.
Gracious, charming, thoughtful and giving: This was the essence of Carole! When did you ever see her without a smile on her face? She always exhibited tender loving care to everyone she met; she was the quintessential Southern woman. Hayes Barton United Methodist Church was a major influence in her life where she found comfort, through her bible study class, and drew closer in her walk with Christ. Service to others was paramount to her so she participated in Raleigh’s Meals On wheels each month.
Carole graduated from California State University with a B.A. degree in Art History. She enjoyed her career in television as an executive producer for KSLA-TV in Shreveport, LA; Ashville, NC; WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC; and Take One Productions in Raleigh. After a successful career in television, she decided to pursue her dream of using her wealth of artistic talent and received her B.S. degree from Meredith College in Interior Design.
She was an amazing designer and could make any house look incredible. Her accomplishments include being the treasurer of Alliance of Interior Designers in Raleigh; and design chair of the ASID Carolinas-NE Chapter.
Through all her accomplishments, her greatest joy was her two children: Amanda Jeanne Gaskins and John Winston Gaskins. She is also survived by her sisters: Linda Linam Etter (Charles), Sarah Alexa Linam Hutchens (Presley), Jeannie Bryan Linam Davenport (Jim); four nieces; two nephews; and one cat, Dawn.
A Celebration of Carole’s Life will be held at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, 2209 Fairview Road, Raleigh, NC, Saturday January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Her family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hayes Barton U.M.C. “Spiritual Academy,” which benefits children’s spiritual education.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.BrownWynne.com
