Catherine graduated from Durham High School in 1948. She dedicated her life to her family, raising four children as a loving homemaker alongside her husband, Joseph M. Bailey. Over the course of their 65-year marriage, they lived in 10 states and 16 cities, creating a rich tapestry of memories together.
In her later years, Catherine enjoyed an active and joyful life at The Conservatory in The Woodlands, Texas. She especially loved playing Bingo and participating in community activities with her dear friends and family. Catherine had a deep love for all holidays and took great joy in decorating and dressing festively to celebrate each one.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Ollie Batten; her beloved husband, Joseph Mortlin Bailey; and all ten of her siblings: Erwin, Bill, Hilda, Emmett, Ramona, Bobby, Jack, Gordon, Della, and Donny.
Catherine is survived by her children: Lonn, Beverly, Joe (Gerry), and Cindy (Alan); her grandchildren: Melissa (Josh), Justin, Kelley (Brian), Brittany (Santi), Amanda, and Nick; and her great-grandchildren: Caden, Joey, Lane, Luke, Wilson, Mateo, and Penelope.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Three Oaks Hospice and At Your Side for their compassionate care in Catherine’s final days. A special thank you goes to Nicole Acero, her devoted nurse for over a year, who formed a meaningful friendship with Catherine during their time together.
