

Raleigh – Cecil C. “Chuck” Wooten, age 91 died on November 22, 2013 at William M. Dunlap Center for Caring in Raleigh. He was the son of the late Jack B. and Dixie P. Wooten and was born October 10, 1922 in Johnston County, near Princeton, NC.
He was a graduate of Princeton High School, Oak Ridge Military Institute, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served in the United States Army during World War II as an Infantry 1st Lieutenant.
He retired as a Partner in the Certified Public Accountant firm of Koonce, Wooten & Haywood in 1988. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Association of CPA’s, and a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the North Carolina Association of CPA’s.
He was active in community affairs and was a former member of the Board of Directors of Wake Memorial Hospital, Raleigh (Host) Lions Club, Raleigh Country Club, and the Stag Club. He was also a member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his group at Raleigh Country Club.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Aycock Wooten, and brothers, Jack B. Wooten, Jr, Shade A. Wooten, and Worth A. Wooten.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn MacMillan Wooten; a sister, Lillian Wooten West and her husband, Wayne of Greensboro; a daughter, Sue Wooten Harris of Cary; a son, Charles Aycock Wooten and his wife Susan of Cumming, GA; a daughter, Mary Wooten Evans and her husband, Robert of Cary. In addition to stepsons, Joseph MacMillan and his wife, Peggy of Raleigh; Michael MacMillan and his wife, Cathy of Gainesville, FL; Doug MacMillan and his wife, Jane of Raleigh. He is survived by four grandchildren, Jackie Cirilli, Katie Bostedo, Mark and Lauren Evans; four step-grandchildren, Joseph, Cameron, Charlie and Elizabeth MacMillan.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, November 25, 2013 at White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Family visitation will immediately follow the service.
