Charles Douglas Jeffreys

Charles Douglas Jeffreys, 80, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2010. He was born on May 21, 1930 in Durham, NC to his parents William “Frank” and Myrtle Burnette Jeffreys. Charles served in the US Air Force and graduated from NC State University with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. His career included working with the Boeing Company, Pepsi Cola Bottling Co., Colonial Foods, CC Mangum and West Brothers.

He was a member of the Raleigh Civitan Club and a bowling league.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara; children, Suzanne Boystak, Lisa Smith, John Jeffreys and his wife Thaura; step-children, Mark Spruill and Elizabeth Spruill. He will also be missed by his dear grandchildren, Kirsten and James Wind and his sister Brenda Jeffreys.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 10-11 AM at Mitchell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, with interment to follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association - 400 Oberlin Road #220 - Raleigh, NC 27605 or to Resources for Seniors - 1110 Navaho Dr. #400 - Raleigh, NC 27609.
