Christine "Christy" Owle Murray

Christine Owle Murray, beloved daughter, wife, sister and daughter-in-law, passed away on February 14, 2012. Born on May 1, 1974 in Portsmouth, VA; she is the daughter of Janet J. and Stephen M. Owle, of Goldsboro. She graduated in 1992 from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, VA.

A graduate of Meredith College, Class of 1996; she earned a BA in French and International Studies, as well as Paralegal Certification. Christy met Ryan T. Murray and married on September 13, 2003. The words, ‘We will miss you’, just don’t seem to say enough. Rest in Peace, my sweets.

She is lovingly remembered by her parents and husband; by her grandmother, Ophelia Jacobs; aunts, Joan Howell and husband Dexter, Myra Jones and husband Ronnie, Happy Jenkins and Mary Adylott; uncles, James Owle and wife Rose and Robert Owle; mother-in-law, Sue Murray; sisters-in-law, Kristin Murray and Lisa Gangewere; brother-in-law, Kevin Gangewere; niece and nephews, Kenzie, Keegan and Jordan; and by her numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James L. Jacobs, Jefferson Owle and Juanita Owle.

Family will receive friends on Friday evening, February 17th from 6-8 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home – 300 St. Mary’s Street in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2 PM at Westwood United Methodist Church - 130 Short Street in Goldsboro, located facing Hwy 70 West.
