Clara Wallace Brown, also known as Sally to her family, 77, was born January 2, 1948 in Moore County, NC and transitioned to her heavenly home on August 29, 2025 after battling Parkinson's Disease for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Micky Brown. She has missed him greatly since his death in November of 2024.
Clara is survived by her sister Irene Graham (Larry); niece Kim Graham (Bruce Mintz), who has been her mainstay through years of illness along with her neighbor Sharon Marshall; niece Donna Snipes (Tommy) and nephew Steven Graham. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Becki Browne and Donna Moore (Steven) as well as great nephews, niece and forever friends. Clara was also the best “Fur Mama” to three very lucky felines – Murphy, Spice and Sugar.
Clara graduated from Pinehurst High School in 1966 and began a career in retail service, working at Anderson Little. This may be where her love of combing through Goodwill and Thrift stores began!
Clara was a dedicated member of Wake Forest United Methodist Church, working with the youth every chance she got and went on several Mission trips with them, including Jamaica, West Virginia and several sites in North Carolina. She also participated in The Walk to Emmaus and was active with the Prison Ministries (KAIROS and TORCH). Clara had such a servant’s heart and when her health kept her from attending as she wanted, her favorite saying was “I may give out but will never give up”!
A service will be held on Thursday September 4th, at 1:30pm in the sanctuary of Wake Forest United Methodist Church, with a visitation and light snacks in the Narthex to follow.
In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or Missions of Wake Forest United Methodist Church
