

Claude Steve Dominic Nolle, 69, of Raleigh, North Carolina, died on July 28th, 2026 due to complications from heart failure. Born on May 11, 1957 to Rolande Nolle and Jackie E. Nolle, Claude grew up in Woodside, Queens.
Claude moved to upstate New York to work for IBM in 1979. He would go on to create an impressive career with the company across three locations (Kingston, Poughkeepsie and Fishkill) and multiple leadership roles across hardware, software and technical architecture divisions. He earned his Associates Degree in Computer Science from Marist College in 1991. He retired from IBM in 2015 after 36 years.
Claude enjoyed traveling internationally with friends and family, rebuilding personal computers, Edward Gorey cartoons, and volunteering as a Wake County poll site Judge.
Claude was predeceased by his wife of 23 years, Nancy Nolle. They met at IBM and lived most of their lives together in Poughkeepsie, NY. They moved to Raleigh in 2014 to escape the snowy New York winters and be closer to friends.
Claude met his partner Pamela Barden in June of 2019. They spent 7 years enjoying traveling, visiting with family and friends, watching TV and movie mysteries together.
Claude is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Tom) Schnurr, and granddaughter, Lorelei Schnurr, his life partner Pamela Barden, his brother, Jack (Kristen) Nolle, and his nephews Owen and Sam Nolle.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC on Saturday, October 10th from 2pm - 5pm.
