Anna Collins Hanley Moody, age 45, of Raleigh, N.C., passed away peacefully at her home on January 6, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1979, to her loving parents, Rhoda Darnell Glover and James Fallon Hanley, Sr.
Collin graduated from Meredith College in 2002 with a degree in Arts Education and received a K-12 Art NC teaching license. She began her career teaching Visual Arts at St. Micheal’s Catholic School in Cary in 2002. She also taught Visual Arts at Cary High School, Millbrook High School and Knightdale High School.
She was beloved by her students. Wherever Collin taught, she created an atmosphere of fun and creativity that engendered a love for art. She loved her students and teaching as much as she loved art.
In addition to teaching, Collin was a successful fine artist. She was very talented in a variety of mediums such as drawings, painting with mixed media/collage, and sculpture. She loved working with fonts and used asemic writing in her artwork.
Collin is survived by her loving mother, Rhoda Darnell Glover; her father, James Fallon Hanley, Sr. and his wife, Ann Hanley; her brothers, James Fallon Hanley, Jr. and John McKinley Hanley; and her step-brother, Eric Strader Tise. She is also survived by her uncles, John Hanley and Hayes Hanley, his wife, Karen Hanley; her aunt, Emily Lee Willis; and cousins, Thomas Barnes, Ashley Barnes, Cory Hanley, Wells Hanley, and Kristen Coker Stonesiefer.
She is predeceased by her grandparents, Robert and Rosalie Hanley and John and Lucille Glover, her aunt Rosalie Blowe and uncles Royce Blowe and Ervin Glover.
A memorial service was held at Jones Chapel at Meredith College, on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 am, a visitation followed the service at Meredith.
