Dan was a kind man. As the Interim Pastor at Kure Beach First Baptist, I had a lot of interaction with Dan.  Not only was Dan kind and gracious but he was so accommodating. My wife, Susan and I , were often invited into the Coffey home for fellowship and a meal. We were grateful for Dan and Brenda's hospitality. So many people's lives were forever touched  by Dan's graciousness. Dan will be greatly missed.  Our prayers go out to Brenda and all the family. God bless the Coffey family!

Dan had a great life.  He served his country with honor, pride and duty.  We thank him for his service.  We have known Dan and Brenda for over 20 years and they both lived a life that most of us dream about.  They cared deeply for each other, traveled the world and had many dear friends and always put Christ first in their lives.    I remember going to their house for dinner and Brenda had made a delicious seafood lasagna.  They were both very gracious hosts.  We went with them and other friends to the north side of  Carolina Beach and fished all afternoon.  Dan had a great sense of humor!  He was funny, smart and witty.  We enjoyed their company very much.
Dan was dedicated and devoted to God, his family and to his church.  He helped bring many people to Christ through the Gideon ministry.  We are so blessed to have known him and to call him our friend. 
We are so sorry for your loss dear family members but he is with his Lord and Savior and will never be in pain again.  Fly high sweet Dan!  You made a difference in so many lives and we are eternally grateful to have known you and to call you FRIEND.

My heart has been flooded with great memories of you and Dan since I heard of his home going. From the first time I met Dan to the last time I saw him, he was the same through and through….a DISCIPLE OF CHRIST,  TRUE FRIEND and FAITHFUL GIDEON! He always had a smile on his face, an encouraging word and a genuine caring spirit! He had the gift of laughter and story telling and never once complained even when his eyesight was failing him. We will always remainThankful to God for placing Dan in our lives!

I did not have the honor of meeting either  you or Daniel   I am a member of Kure Beach First Baptist church and heard of his passing.  How blessed you two were to have been in a marriage for 65 wonderful years.    I know you will miss him, and share in his new life with Jesus.  We will keep you and your family in our prayers .

Brenda & Karen, Dan was always one of my favorite people while you were members of WBC.  He was always a gentleman with a sense of humor one had to be quick witted to understand.  All of us enjoyed many Sunday nights after service sharing our homes and a few goodies.  He was a Godly man always showing his love of Jesus in his speech and Godly ways.  Once you guys moved, we didn't see you as often but my thoughts were often with you both.  He is now with Jesus and I expect he and Calvin are catching up. My prayers are with both of you and they are for peace and comfort and wisdom that only God can give. Remember our special song once "One Day At The Time Sweet Jesus"?  That song gets me through and it will you also.
