Danny was a graduate of North Forsyth High School and was active in Boy Scouts where he was the recipient of the Eagle, Brotherhood Order of the Arrow, and God and Country Awards. He received a BS in Mathematics from UNC at Pembroke and later an Associate degree in Electronic Technology and Engineering from Richmond Technical College.

After his college graduation, he spent a number of years living and working in the Laurinburg area. In 2001, he returned to the Winston-Salem Triad area for several years. He has spent the last 15+ years in the Raleigh Triangle area and has worked with Bradley Woodcraft for a number of those years.

Danny will be greatly missed by his fellow workers where he kept things organized, always willing to lend a hand and making sure things were where they needed to be in order to maintain worker and job efficiency. More importantly the loss of Danny’s presence is already being felt throughout the fellowship of the Triangle Area AA community. Danny’s desire to help others and his strong spiritual beliefs were made very evident in his daily actions. He positively influenced many lives and served as a great role model and mentor.

Danny is survived by his sister, Mae Marshall of Raleigh, NC as well as several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Billy G. Smith of Winston-Salem, NC.

A burial and memorial service will be held at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC at a later date.
