David Kirkland Kibler, 50, passed away peacefully on May 19th. He is the son of the late J.W. Kibler and Norma Hatchette Kibler. He is survived by his wife Penny; daughter, Melanie; sister, Lynne Kibler Greene and husband Jim; nephew, Matt; niece, Ashley; great niece, Avery; brother Bill Kibler and wife Colleen, and nephew Jordan.
Kirk was employed by Progress Energy for 10 years as a Financial Analyst, and was an active member of Highland Baptist Church. Kirk loved God and lived his life accordingly to Romans 8:28. “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called accordingly to his purpose for them”. (Life Application Bible, New Living Translation).
God chose Kirk to put on his “preaching hat” during Kirk’s battle with cancer. He shared God’s love, grace, and challenged all to put aside their fears to witness and serve the Lord with all their hearts. God met every need. God provided Kirk with strength and a massive Christian family. Christians from everywhere came forth in obedience to God to assist Kirk with God’s plan. Kirk has completed his earthly mission and has been called home.
Kirk’s family wishes to thank everyone at the Cancer Centers of North Carolina, especially Dr. Bill Berry and Alison Casey, for their love and dedication. Kirk’s family wishes to express gratitude towards Hospice of Wake County for their kind and caring help during Kirk’s transition to heaven.
A memorial service to celebrate Kirk’s life will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 3:30 PM at Highland Baptist Church, 8524 Crowder Road, Raleigh, NC, 27603. Contributions in Kirk’s memory can be made to Highland Baptist Church, Hospice of Wake County, or charity of your choice.
