Dennis and I feel fortunate to have met such a wonderful person as Kirk.  His memorial service was beautiful and we are glad we were able to attend.

Kirk's updates and "preaching hat" was a wonderful way for him to reach so many people who needed to hear his message.

Kirk will be missed by us.

June and are were saddened to learn of your loss.  Kirk was a good friend and neighbor.  We know he is in God's presence.  I wish we could have attended the service, but we were out of town and didn't learn of his passing till today.  May God's blessings watch over each of you.

What a wonderful inspiration Kirk was to me during the last months of his life.  He has motivated me to be a better witness for the Lord. I'm sure there will be many more people in Heaven because of Kirk's strong and loving stand for Jesus Christ.

Dear Penny and Melanie, I was blessed to have known Kirk at Progress Energy for the last 10 years. I first met Kirk when I was teaching a software class at then, CP&L. He came into the class with his arm in a cast and told the funny story about tripping over the dog in the backyard and not being able to get up. He told us that he yelled and yelled but no one in the house heard him. Finally a neighbor heard his cries and came and helped him. That story was one of many that Kirk shared with me and others over the years. He was truly a funny guy and I really appreciated his "preaching emails". My thoughts and prayers are with you all of his family during this time.

Kirk has been a part of my life for about 10 years.  We worked closely together during our tenure at NCNG and continued our friendship at Progress Energy.  He has and will always be an inspiration to me and I am so grateful for that friendship. Although I will miss his "award winning" smile, those funny family stories and the fun times that we had working together, those memories are unforgetable and will always remain in my heart.  I know that it's hard to let someone like him go but Kirk's love for God was so powerful that we can't compete.  Melanie/Penny, I am deeply saddened for your loss but keep in mind that you were a special part of a well-lived life.

Kibler Family:  "I know in my heart that Kirk is in his heavenly home, as he was the finest young man I've ever met.  His sweetness & sense of humor made him so very special to everyone who knew him.  He stood out in the First Baptist Church Youth Group, Asheville, & I loved him from then on.  We had lunch together on his last two trips to Asheville, & I had the privilege of being called "Mama McGee" by Kirk.  He'll always live in my heart.

Know you are all in our thoughts and prayers through this tough time. Kirk had such a huge impact on my life as we grew up together, with his sense of humor and his love for his family.  We kept in touch over the years, but wish I had done it more. Even though we didn't see each other much later in life, I feel a big hole in my heart.  Think of all the good times you had with him and know that he is smiling down on you from Heaven and will be with you always.  His spirit is so strong and will live on in your heart forever!

I first met Kirk when I was 15...and oh...did I have a huge crush on him.   He was so funny, shy, and sweet...and so very cute.  How could a girl not have a crush on Kirk Kibler?   I was at every single FIrst Baptist Youth Group event that summer...just so I could be near him.  And then he went to college, where he wrote me so many letters that were still a mixture of Kirk...hilarious yet so sweet.  

Over time, we lost touch, only speaking once every few years.  And then, I received the email that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  I had consulted for the Prostate Cancer Foundation here in Los Angeles and discussed with him the battle he would be facing.  But in typical Kirk fashion, he approached it with humor and faith.  Through many more of these emails, our old (and yes, we are now old!) youth group came back together, bonding again thru Kirk, and thru other challenges as well, as Kirk didn't want these exchanges to only be about him.  

And through these emails, the group decided it was time that we all see each other again, be together again over the Christmas holiday.  Who would have know at that same time, God chose to take my father...on Christmas Eve.  One of the last things my father told my mother was to be sure to go to the party, see Kirk, and make sure he was ok.  The party just happened to be on the day of my father's funeral.  My family made the decision to not tell anybody about it and let the party be about Kirk.  The day of the funeral, I looked up and saw a large group of that old FBC crowd walking through the door...led by Kirk.  I've never forgotten that day...or Kirk's smiling face and he gave me a big bear hug.  

How he lived and how he chose to handle his death speaks volumes to who Kirk Kibler was.  We are all very lucky to have known him...to have him be a part of our lives.

Kirk Kibler learned, at a young age, to live in the present moment and to enjoy people and life.  Kirk did not wait to tell people that he loved them.  My guess is that Kirk had no regrets about life as he lived life to the fullest. Truly, Kirk Kibler made a difference in my life.  Ka'thy Gore Chappell

I want you to know, as many of us here at St. David's do, that you are loved and we feel so saddened to hear the news.  We are praying for you and your family that you will be comforted and that we can be a comfort to you.  Your Dad was always such an encouragement to me -- his faith was only made stronger through his sickness.  May God be very real in your life and draw you close to Him in this tough time.

Kirk was a wonderful man.  My name is Sandi Lee and I worked as his secretary when he was employed with the NC Utilities Commission.  God says in His Word that we will be known by the fruits we bear.  Kirk surely was known by his fruits.  God used him in a mightly way to witness to those that were lost and to other Chritians through his "Preaching Hat" as he called it.  Kirk will have many crowns to present to Jesus because he has earned many crowns for his deeds on earth and for his witness for Jesus.

He was an inspiration to me and "truly" a friend.  I will miss him but I know He is in Glory now.

How lucky I was to be in the same youth group at FBC Asheville as Kirk.  Those were very special times.  Over the last several years, our group member's paths have intersected again - now with spouses and children to add to our numbers - still caring, still sharing, still loving.  These are very special times.  Kirk was so instrumental in bringing us all back together.  His faith so inspiring.  For that, I'll always be thankful.  For Kirk, I'll always be thankful. I was in high school with Kirk.  I have not seen him since graduation, but I remember him well.  He was a great guy.  Very funny, very kind.  I'm sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathy to the whole family.  I saw Kirk's obituary in the paper this morning.  I grew up with Kirk, Lynne and Bill in the 1st Baptist Church in Asheville.  Kirk, Bill, their dad and I were in Boy Scouts together.  Kirk and I attended UNC-G at the same time and now I discover we both ended up in the Raleigh area.  It is always a shock when someone who was in a large part of your early life has pass on but a comfort to know that his relationship with our Lord was so strong.

Lynne, please express to all your family the feelings I have about Kirk's transition to Heaven.  How can we be sad for him.....but for all of us the tears are flowing.  I will never forget his Preacher Hat affirmations as he walked the path.  Your family has always been important to my family.

I've worked with Kirk for 10 years, and I enjoyed working with him.  He always had such a positive outlook on life (due to his faith).  For some people it would be hard to continue to minister with a sickness such as cancer; however, Kirk even shared his love for God more so during his sickness.  What a great testimony.  His "preaching hat" e-mails were inspiring and touching.  Kirk will most definitely be missed.
