David F. Smith Jr.

Mr. Smith, veteran of the US Navy, served during 1945- 1949, received the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal. Mr. Smith was a graduate of the University of Rochester, with a concentration in Physics. He was a Sr. Engineer with Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics, and later became a consultant for the Spanish Navy.

He was preceded in death in 2007, by his loving wife of 57 years, Anne Elizabeth Runyon Smith. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Judy Boone, and husband, Timothy; son, Richard Smith and wife, Joyce, both of Wake Forest; his devoted grandchildren, Matthew, David, Lauren, Elizabeth, Christopher and wife Ja Young, his dear friend Evadene Cothren, and his two brothers, Peter J. Smith and James O. Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday May 18, at the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh NC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be in memory of Mr. Smith to: U. S. Submarine Veterans of WWII, Mail to: Ray Marshall, Treasurer
