Deanna Davis Willoughby

Deanna was born March 11, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Martha Davis and the late Kenneth Davis. She was educated in Fairfax County public schools and went on to earn a degree in computer science from George Mason University. In 1987 she joined MCI, which later became part of Verizon, and she remained there for 37 years until her retirement in 2024.

Deanna was deeply involved in her community. She was a member of the Columbiettes at St. Francis of Assisi and could often be found at book club, at game night, or at social events. She loved anything outdoors, especially fishing, hiking, and gardening. Above all, Deanna was devoted to her family. Kind, compassionate, diligent, and hardworking, she gave of herself endlessly to the people she loved, and her warmth touched everyone who knew her. Her family mourns her passing, will miss her more than words can say, and will love her always.

In addition to her husband of 36 years, Deanna is survived by her children, Austin Michael Willoughby of Santa Cruz, California, and Lauren Ashley Willoughby of Raleigh; her mother, Martha Lamb; her brothers, Steve, Brad, Tim, Andrew, and Jeff Davis; and her sisters, Elizabeth Star and Melinda Seashore.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Davis, and her sister, Mary Catherine Bishop.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC. Following the service, Deanna will be laid to rest at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
