Delzie “Pete” Theodoric Poythress, 85, of Raleigh, died on June 6, 2019. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. Delzie spent his career working for UPS, before his retirement. He enjoyed mechanical work and working on cars. Delzie was also an avid Nascar racing fan. He had a huge sweet tooth, and never had a meal without dessert! He was a great role model to many, a wonderful husband and father, and a true family man.

Delzie is survived by his daughter, Debbie Crank; grandchildren, Ashley Condry and her husband, Joshua, and Tyler Crank; great grandson, Jackson; and brother, Neil D. Poythress and his wife, Pat. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Poythress; parents, Delzie and Virginia Poythress; and sister, Ann Clary.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9 from 6:00-8:00pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 10 at 2:00pm at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
