Diane Moose, 57, of Clayton, NC, went home to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, after a short battle with cancer and a long and courageous battle with PSC (Walter Payton Disease).
Diane was born in 1961 in Harnett County, NC and graduated from Rocky Mount Sr. High School and North Carolina State University, also becoming a certified public accountant. She worked for 15 years at PennCorp Financial / MCM Corporation, rising to the level of Assistant Vice President for Financial Operations before joining NC State University in 1997. At NC State she served for 3 years as Assistant Budget Director for the University before serving the last 18 years as Senior Associate Athletics Director / Chief Financial Officer for Wolfpack Athletics. She was involved in numerous athletics, university, ACC, and NCAA committees, cabinets and councils; as well as serving in leadership capacities and volunteering for several community and nonprofit organizations, her local church in Raleigh and family churches in Rocky Mount and Newton Grove NC.
Diane was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, and sister; who after our Lord and Savior loved all things family and NC State. She quietly lived Christ’s example of a servant leader.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tim of the home; daughter Stephanie Britt Hurst (Taylor) of Clayton, NC; daughter Jordan Moose Booth (Anthony) of Zebulon, NC; daughter Cathryn June Moose of Zebulon, NC; parents Jim and Adell Britt of Rocky Mount, NC; brother Michael Britt (Kim) of Richmond, VA; grandsons Alex and Connor Hurst; nephews Blake and Joseph Britt; special aunt Faye Britt of Fuquay Varina, NC; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins all of whom she adored and loved mightily.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Hillyer Memorial Christian Church, 718 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, NC, led by Dr. John R. Browning. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. A private family burial will be held at Eureka Christian Church near Newton Grove, NC.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors from the UNC Hospital Medical ICU Unit, who provided such great care to Diane during her last days. Also to the medical team at the UNC Cancer and Radiology Centers, and to the UNC Gastroenterology and Liver Transplant teams who provided long term care to her.
James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial, because having stood the test, that person will receive the Crown of Life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
