Don was a Wake County native. A member of Ebenezer Community Baptist Church, he enjoyed gardening and working on tractors. He was employed by C. C. Mangum (now Fred Smith Company) for 60 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Hope Morton, and her husband, Eddie, of Raleigh; son, Mike Ferguson of Lexington, NC; grandchildren, Daniel Ferguson, Chris Morton (Juliann), Alexis Hunter (Trey), Ashlyn Moore (Chris); great-grandchildren, Mason Hunter, Jacob Ferguson, Callahan Hunter, Camden Morton; brother, Carl Ferguson, and his wife, Ginny, of Aberdeen, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Dillard Ferguson; sisters, Margie Parker, Sally Ross, Mary Lou Crook, Peggy Sutton, Dorothy Cross; and his brothers, Albert Ed Ferguson, Jr., John Thomas Ferguson, Jimmy Ferguson.
A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, North Carolina.
