Donald Dennis Lynch, of Raleigh, passed away peacefully at his home on June 16, 2021 after a brief illness battle. He is survived by his children Susan Campbell (Dow Campbell) of Findlay, OH; Dennis Lynch (Deborah Baldyga Lynch) (Alyssa and John Baldyga) of Simsbury, CT; and Cathy Knight (Charles Knight) of Elon, NC; eleven grandchildren Colin (Kelsey) Campbell of Richardson, TX; Duncan (Mattison) Campbell of Columbus, OH; Caroline Knight of Elon, NC; Kieran (Olivia) Campbell of Columbus, OH; Denny Lynch of Boston, MA; Peter Campbell of Greensboro, NC; Cameron Knight (Raeanne Dixon) of Elon, NC; Molly Lynch (Ben Brittain) of Cary, NC; Evan Lynch of Raleigh, NC; William Lynch of Raleigh, NC; Grace Campbell (Greg Vanderheiden) of Findlay, OH; and by four great-grandchildren, one of whom will be born November 2021.
Don was Born on August 27, 1933 in Cleveland, OH to John and Margaret Lynch, of Euclid, OH. After graduating from Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland, he attended John Carroll University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Accountancy. After a brief courtship, he married his soulmate, Donna Osborne, in Portland, OR.
He began and ended his 37 year career with Merrill Lynch where he was Senior Resident Vice President and he and Donna retired to Raleigh where they had six wonderful years of travelling and playing golf before she passed away in 1996.
Don and Donna taught their children, and so many others, philanthropy, faith, and generosity and demonstrated this in many ways worldwide.
He was a dedicated brother and is also survived by Jerry (Martie) Lynch of West Bloomfield, MI and Jon Jay (Jean) Lynch of Mentor, OH and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. There will be no visitation; rather than flowers, please consider donations to St. Luke's Parish Outreach and/or St. Francis of Assisi Bread Line - 135 West 31st - New York, NY 10001.
