Dorie Ann Monroe

She graduated from Hugh Morson High School and Meredith College.

She worked as an executive secretary at Burroughs Welcome and after retirement worked at the North Carolina Legislature.

She was actively involved in Raleigh Kiwanis Club and she was a long time member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Dorie loved to travel the world and she loved her dogs.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, and her husband Dr. Robert J. Monroe.

She is survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Dorie was a vibrant and colorful personality who loved travel, people and dogs. Her high energy and kindness to others will always be remembered.

The family would like to thank the staff of Springmoor Life Retirement Center and Stewart Health Center for the care and compassion they showed our loved one over the years and in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday June 9, 2026 at 1:00 in the afternoon in the Mausoleum Chapel at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612 with entombment immediately following.
