

Dorothy graduated from Binghamton Central High School. She retired from Chenango Valley High School in Binghamton, NY after working many years as a Book keeper. Dorothy volunteered at Main Street Baptist Church Food Pantry and Lourdes Hospital, when she lived in Binghamton. She lived her 99 years enjoying simple pleasures, putting family first, believing none could ever be wrong, bad or inferior in any way. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sharing memories of her summer home on the St Lawrence River in upstate NY, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a special lady enjoying the simple pleasures , putting family first and always lending help and support to those in need.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Byron Benjamin, her son Daryl Benjamin, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her son David Benjamin and his wife Sandra of Tolland CT, and her daughter Darlene Worden and her husband Jack of Cary NC; grandchildren: Geoffrey Benjamin and wife Dawn, Jennifer Carroll, John Worden and wife Julie, Scott Worden and wife Janice, Kevin Worden and wife Dawn, 9 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Main Street Baptist Church, Binghamton NY at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Main Street Baptist Church Food Pantry.
