Doug worked for Piedmont Electrical Membership Corp. for over 25 years before retiring. He has been a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Raleigh for many years. Doug enjoys Bass fishing and as a big family man, he always cherished his time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wanda Sorrell Wright; children, Clifton Wright (Fawn Wright), Daniel Wright (Tracey Wright) and Terri Branch (Tracy Branch); grandchildren, Taylor Branch, Jessica Wright, Dalton Wright, Lindsay North and Chelsea North; great grandchild, Ayden Perry; and siblings, Richard Wright, David Wright (Vera Wright) and Diane Stone (James Stone).
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 7808 Ebenezer Church Rd, Raleigh, NC.
