

A native of Raleigh, Edie was born to Eugene Huntley Roberts and Jessie Mitchell Roberts on August 25, 1922. After graduating from Broughton High School she studied at Miss Hardbarger’s Business College and went to work for the Highway Department and later McBee Systems.
As a life-long resident of Raleigh she was very active in the community serving as a volunteer at Rex Hospital for over 30 years, participating in the Raleigh Women’s Club, and delivering Meals on Wheels. As a member of the First Baptist Church of Raleigh she served in numerous roles including The Board of Deacons, Sunday School Teacher and volunteer in the clothing closet.
Edie is survived by her sons, Stanley M. Crocker, III, his wife Sue, and Robert H. Crocker; grandchildren David Toms (Becky), Marcia Toms (Tarek Rogers), Lee Crocker (Jacy), Joseph Crocker and Jodi Ardente (Adam);-grandchildren Liam Crocker, Early Toms, Beau Crocker, Cosmo Toms; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews, sister in law Thelma Roberts of Wilmington, NC and first cousin John Betts of Beaufort, NC
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley M. Crocker, Jr. (Beau); brothers, Eugene Huntley Roberts, Jr. and Charles Benjamin Roberts; and her daughter, Donna Lynn Crocker Toms.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at First Baptist of Raleigh, 99 N. Salisbury Street. Family will receive guests in the parlor following the service.
