Elaine Gourley Miller

Born in Duluth, MN, she was the wife of the late Paul E Miller III and the daughter of the late Lawrence Milton Gourley and the late Shirley Elizabeth Colgate Gourley.

She is survived by her children Jonathan Emmons Miller of Greenville, South Carolina, his wife Blair Miller and their children Campbell Elizabeth and Catherine Emmons, and also by her daughter Erin Elizabeth McMullen of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and her husband Edward McMullen.

Elaine was the eldest of five children and is survived by her sisters, Lynne Taylor and her husband Bill of Burlington, Cindy McClintock and her husband Chuck also of Burlington and her brothers Michael Gourley and his wife Amy of Raleigh and David Gourley and his partner Julia Turlington of South Carolina.

She was an amazing mother and grandmother and was so very proud of her family. She was a wonderful artist, a talented decorator and a whiz with real estate. She loved to dance and enjoyed good music and good friends. She was part of a bridge club and a Mah Jongg club she adored. She was very dedicated to her church at White Memorial and volunteered for many different roles there.

On Monday, March 7, 2022, a graveside service will be held at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27601, at 1PM.

Following that at 2PM, March 7, 2022, a church service will be held in her honor at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1704 Oberlin Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608. A brief reception will follow.
