

Elliott Laniel Copeland, 21, of Raleigh died in New York City on June 19 from injuries sustained after being struck by an automobile on June 16. He was the son of Monique Laniel and Anthony Mack Copeland of 1412 Hunting Ridge Road in Raleigh.
Elliott was a rising senior at Fordham University, where he was a finance major and a member of the the rugby team. He is a 2013 graduate of Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, where he earned varsity letters in soccer and baseball and played violin in the school orchestra.
In addition to his parents, Elliott is survived by: brother Simon Laniel Copeland of the home; paternal grandparents Willard and Christine Copeland of Hertford, NC; maternal aunts Francine and Andrée Laniel and uncles Pierre and Robert Laniel of Montreal.
Funeral Services are Friday, June 24 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael Episcopal Church, 1520 Canterbury Road in Raleigh. The family will receive friends following the service at North Ridge Country Club at 6612 Falls of Neuse Road.
