Elmer James Brett Jr. died on Dec. 30th, at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He is survived by sisters, Patricia Cohen and Margueritte Andrusko and her husband Jerome; son, Shawn Mitchell and his wife, Rose; 4 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends of Bill W.
Jim was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, with his 2 sisters. He went to LaSalle College, prior to enlisting in the USAF, where he served in Germany and Japan. As a civilian, Jim worked with electronics power systems in multiple industries in Boston and Raleigh. He was an avid golfer and Red Sox fan. Most importantly, Jim was totally devoted to the love of his life, Pamela Brett, who predeceased him in 2014. They are now reunited.
Visitation will be held at Mitchell Funeral home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., on Friday, January 4, from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Mitchell Funeral home on Saturday, January 5th at 3:15pm, followed by a graveside tribute at the adjoining Raleigh Memorial Park.
