Eugenia Brummitt Johnson

Eugenia was the youngest of four children of the late William and Blanche Brummitt of Oxford, NC. After graduating from Oxford High School, she attended Campbell University. She met Richard Carroll Johnson and they married July 11, 1964.

She was an active member of St. John's Baptist Church, and for over 40 years was employed with the Wake County Public Schools in the Budget Department. She always wanted for others to know that her greatest joy was in loving the Lord Jesus Christ and in desiring for all to know him personally as she did. She shared and taught about Jesus, especially to her daughter and her grandchildren.

She was known for her wit, words of encouragement, and didgence in everything she did.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, Richard Carroll Johnson, Eugenia is survived by her daughter, Gina Johnson Kornegay, and her husband, Michael; and her three grandchildren, Davis Michael Kornegay, Caroline Faith Kornegay, Allison Grace Kornegay; and her sister, Patsy B. Adcock.

Eugenia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Josephine Currin, and her brother, Millard Allen Brummitt.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00am. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am, Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
