This is for Naomi,
     I never met Zeke, but I knew Naomi.  I met her at the airport and attended a young people's group at a downtown church.  Leaving Raleigh in 1967, I moved to Illinois where i made the greatest decision of my life.  Sounds like Zeke also knew the Lord as his Saviour.
     God called me to preach through Isa. 61:1.    As a senior I met Karen, a widow with a 5 years old son.  Three weeks after I preached in the church she was attending, she accepted Christ as her Savior.  We were married in August of 1976.
     Something I have rembered through the years that Naomi mentioned.  "Love is like a plant. It takes daily care, and needs plenty of room to grow." Tommy Jackson told me that I would never forget Naomi.  Though I am very much in love with my wife, I have not forgotten you.
     May God grant you a happy future, and his grace to sustain you  through the sorrow of Zeke's death.

Zeke  and Naomi are great friends of mine, over more years than I can remember; I miss him most Tuesdays and Friday’s when we meet at  McDonald’s and Golden Corral. Zeke is sharing his great story telling in Heaven with the Angels, I’ll see you again “Z”.

One of our best friends ever.  Still missing him!

Naomi...we just got the news of Zeke's passing and are so shocked and saddened.  Give us a call when you can and we'll share stories.

Naomi, Greg and I have been so blessed to be part of Zeke's and your lives. We have had so many good times together celebrating birthdays, weddings, Christmas dinners, etc.  together as family.  My favorite story of all is when Zeke went into Kathy's next door neighbor's house instead of Kathy's.  I can still hear him tell it.  We are going to miss him terribly.  Please know we are praying for you and are here to help you when you need us. We love you very much.

Naomi, Sherrill and I are so sorry for your loss of Zeke.  Sherrill thought the sun rose and set on him.  I have the fondest of memories of sitting across from him every Friday at Golden Corral and all the other eating places and times that we were all together.
Sharing all the laughs, stories, jokes and BS-ing we did over the years.  Sherrill and I both loved the two of you and want you to know we are there for you if ever you need us.

 I am so sorry to hear of Grandpa Zeke’s passing. You both are my adopted grandparents and I am just lost for words. Since moving to Virginia I know I was not able to stay in touch like I should. I still needed y’all’s approval for my marriage to Eddie though. We now live in Texas and are only five miles from mom and dad instead of 1200 miles!! 
A couple of my biggest memories:
 I remember I always wanted to come over and go swimming and he would tell me to ask my mom first. You both always wanted me to do better in school and I missed the chance to drive the Gia because of one grade. Y’all told me that I didn’t hold up my end so I couldn’t drive it. Boy was I upset. Not at y’all, but myself. Having our own Christmas time with y’all was always so special too. Especially when Meg was so little. Now we both have our own families and still tell our kids about grandma and grandpa Lloyd. So keep in mind you now have 6 great grandkids from Meg and I alone!!!! 
We love you so much and we will be keeping you in our prayers.

Naomi, broke my heart to hear of Zeke's homecoming. One of the nicest and sweetest people I ever worked with. Always had a smile for everyone and a joy to be around. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time. Love, Mary Linda 

Naomi,  I can’t even find the proper words to tell you how much Zeke meant to Robert and I.  Zeke was the “brother” to Robert that he never had.  I sometimes sit and think about the hours long telephone calls they shared with each other telling the same stories over and over.  Our friendship through the years was a blessing to us.  So many memories, so much fun.  My heart goes out to you for the  absence of him in your remaining life.  He will be so missed.  Always, Anna

Charles and I are so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed listening to Zeke's stories. Even more we enjoyed hearing him laugh at them himself. 
Your love and devotion to each other was obvious. It was encouraging to us as a married couple. 
We will miss him so much.

If there was ever anything Zeke and me agreed to, politically; only God would know what that was, lol. But on a personal level we shared a mutual  respect  an kindness unlike men in their 80’s of different races would common . I will very much miss my time with Zeke, but will as all our friends, hold Naomi close. Marge, Melvyn , John , Kay and Anne in our group are widowed; an felt Naomi’s pain.

Naomi, so sad to hear of Zeke’s passing.  I worked with Zeke for many years at GMAC in Raleigh.  I remember Zeke well.  He was always friendly, had a story to tell and so good to work with.   My prayers and thoughts are with you in the coming days.  He will be missed by so many friends and family.  Take care.  Carol Morris Singley.

Naomi, I am so sad to hear about Zeke, but am rejoicing for the wonderful life he lived.  I worked with Zeke for many years at GMAC and always enjoyed his kindness toward me and all our co-workers.  He always had an interesting story to tell and never seemed to meet a stranger. In our retirement, I always looked forward to seeing him and you at out breakfasts and other get togethers. My prayers and love are with you and all your family that God Will continue to bless and comfort you.
