

Frank Tyson Bridger, son of the late Robert Craven Bridger and Dorothy Tyson Bridger, was born on March 22, 1941, in Lumberton, NC and was welcomed into heaven peacefully at home on August 18th, 2023, with his family by his side.
He is predeceased by his brothers Robert Craven Bridger III and Lawrence Parker Bridger; sister-in-law Jean Hitchcock Bridger and nephew Lawrence Parker Bridger Jr. Frank is remembered with love by his wife of sixty years Lynda Strickland Bridger; his children Frank Tyson Bridger Jr., Anita Bridger Gill (Brad), Margaret Bridger White (Jim), and George Craven Bridger (Sarah).
Memories of Papa will be treasured by his eight grandchildren Bridger and Robert Gill; Jim, Liza, and Anna White; Winnie, Cash, and Rex Bridger. Frank is also survived by his brothers George Richard Bridger, David Quentin Bridger and sister Dorothy Bridger Freedland (Irv).
Frank graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1964 where he majored in economics and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was an active member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church where he served the church in various capacities including head of ushers, a greeter, and affiliated with many committees. He also enjoyed participating in Bible studies which were very important to him. Frank was a member of the Home Builders Association and the Raleigh Board of Realtors; in addition, he was a Certified Commercial Investment Member. Frank was a member of several social clubs including the Carolina Country Club, Sphinx Club, Four Seasons, and Saints Christopher’s.
The greatest joy of Frank’s life was devoting much of his time to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them play the sports they loved, taking them to museums, swimming in the ocean, ice cream trips, and many more. As recently as June, Frank was able to participate in and cherish his family’s annual beach trip.
A funeral service took place on Saturday August 26th at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh.
