

Frank is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Bernadette; his son, Jeff and wife Concetta of Acton, MA; his daughter, Renee and partner Amanda Willshire of Denver, CO; granddaughters, Anna, Sarah and Hailey; sister, Marie Colangelo and husband John; brother, James Spampinato and wife Marilyn; sister, Rosalba Beyer; sister, Gabriela Matassa and husband Robert; and sister-in-law, Judy Baran and husband Joe.
Frank was born in Vulguarnera, Sicily and immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1956 at age 9. Frank built a family and career in Rochester where he lived for many years. Throughout his education and career he lived in 6 different states. Frank eventually settled in Cary, NC where he enjoyed an active retirement.
Frank was a loving husband, father and friend. He loved many activities including tennis, hiking and playing cards. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed playing fantasy football. Frank had an adventurous spirt and loved to travel and eat good food.
Frank is remembered as a generous and caring individual. His generosity extended to family, friends and charitable organizations. He was passionate about helping others and volunteering his time to support school children and his community. Most recently he served as President of the Carolina Preserve Cares community charitable organization, CP Cares (https://carolinapreserve.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/PV-11a-b-CP-Cares.pdf).
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, September 21st at 12 noon at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 11401 Leesville Rd. Raleigh, NC 27613.
