MSgt. Franklin Delano Davis, US AirForce (Retired), 83, passed away on October 27, 2018. Born on May 4, 1935 in Willacoochee, GA; he was one of twelve children of the late Minnah L. Davis and Hattie L. McKoone Davis.

Frank began his 51 years of service with the US Government in 1952 with the US Army and continuing in US AirForce. After 23 years of honorable service, he retired and began his second career with US Customs. He was employed at Miami International Airport for 27 years.

Following his second retirement, Frank and Ingrid relocated to North Carolina. Frank was active in the American Legion locally at Post #124 in Apex and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Apex.

He is survived by his blended family of five children: Les L. Davis, Debby Shaffer (Louie), Major Ronald B. Davis (Kathy), Sandy Everett (Bill), and Roger Nandlal; seven grandchildren: Chris Shaffer (Vanessa), Jeff Shaffer (Megan), Jenny Smith (Joe), Kevin Davis (Aimee), Vincent Davis and Alex and Nicholas Everett; twelve great-grandchildren: Alexis Smith, Konner Smith, Jackie Shaffer, Ellie Shaffer, Victor Davis, Lui Davis, Alfred Davis, Mia Smith, Thaddeus Shaffer, Kristoff Davis, Felicity Davis and Joe Allen Smith; two siblings: Edna Campbell (Nelson), and Charles Davis (Estelle); and by other family and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Ingrid Ruth Davis.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 1-2 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue - Raleigh). Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel, with interment and Military Honors to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
