Genevieve, born on January 2, 1928 in Dorchester Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Emilien and Leah Comeau Doucette. She spent formative years where she raised her daughter and two sons in Poughkeepsie NY. After retirement from IBM, Genevieve and her husband Paul, who predeceased her in 2012, moved to Raleigh in 1996.
Genevieve is survived by her brother Harvey Doucette of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, daughter, Denise Terwilliger and her husband Craig of Raleigh, NC, her son Robert and daughter-in-law Colleen of Staatsburg New York, her son Peter and daughter-in-law Kelli of Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Bryan, Geoffrey and Eric Terwilliger, Scott Boudreau Connor Cross, Ian Burkhard, Alexandra, Aime and Arika Boudreau, and great granddaughter Emily Berry.
Genevieve adored her grandchildren, centering her life around her family. She enjoyed hosting her traditional Christmas Eve parties best known for her homemade cookies, cakes and other sweet treats. Gen, was an avid reader, and active member of the Ladies Guild of Saint Raphael’s of the Archangel Catholic Church. She always had a cheerful disposition and lived a life of love, kindness, and understanding to whomever crossed her path.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday March 23, 2018 at St. Raphael of the Archangel Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Burial following at Raleigh Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the home of Denise Terwilliger on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM.
