Guy D. Albert

Guy Donat Albert, 79, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2012, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh NC. He was born on March 2, 1933, in Madawaska, Maine, beloved son of Emile Albert and Flavie Rossignol Albert.

Guy was a resident of Raleigh, NC since 1983. He was a Veteran of the US Army. Guy retired from Alcatel, formerly ITT North Electric of Raleigh, NC and Galion, OH, after 37 years of service as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

He is lovingly remembered by his loving partner and best friend of 26 years, Judy Obman, of Cary, NC; his loving sons, John and his wife Rachel, of Hilliard, OH, Tom and his wife Bev, of Brownsburg, IN, Larry and his wife Jane, of Dublin, OH, and Jim and his wife Eileen, of Parma, OH. Beloved grandfather to, Geoffrey, Madeleine, Steven, Kevin, Matthew, David, Ben, Colleen, Katie, and Megan. He will also be missed by his siblings, Leonard, Lucille, Eugenie, and Ronald.

Guy was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers, Claude and Paul.

The family will receive friends on Saturday May 26, from 2:00-3:00 pm, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC. A memorial service with military honors will follow at 3:00pm in the chapel.

To Uncle Guy's family- Sorry for your loss. My dad, Leonard (Guy's brother) really has a resemblence to Uncle Guy based on the pictures in the photo gallery. All the best to you, and let us know if you ever make it to Southern California, and we would love to visit with you.

It was a pleasure having had the opportunity to meet Mr. Albert the time he came to visit Tom at the store! I know Tom was very excited about that visit! I don't know John, Larry or Jim very well at all but have met them on various occasions. I'm sure Mr. Albert is very proud of the legacy he leaves in the hands of his sons and grandchildren. I loved his stories of growing up in Maine and his time in the service.We just wanted to say how sorry we are for your loss. I had the privilege to work with Guy at North Electric in Galion. I remember that Guy had a model airplane engine that he made setting on his drawing table. He told me how he designer a remote release for his car trunk lock. Guy was a great mechanical designer. His designs always worked. Guy can be counted as one of the best designers that worked at North Electric. He was one great man. I know he will be missed
