Harold Lynn Metcalf

Harold Lynn Metcalf, 81, passed away on March 15, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born on February 21, 1935 in Prince Edward County, Virginia; he was one of thirteen children of the late Thomas and Nell Davis Metcalf.

Harold served honorably in the US Navy and graduated from NC State University with a degree in electrical engineering. For the last 26 years, he was with Jake Rudisill Associates, Inc. in Charlotte, NC. He was a member of Christ Baptist Church in Raleigh, serving as an usher, enjoyed woodworking and time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Metcalf; sons: Craig Metcalf and wife Merri Lea, of Cary and Lindsay Metcalf, of Raleigh; step-children: Chris Weaver and wife Dawna, of Clayton and Waynette Harrison and husband Jay, of Angier; grandchildren: Jacob and Amanda Metcalf, Stevie and Steven West, Carmen Metcalf, Jordan Petitt, Cara Petitt, Christopher and Marie Weaver, Jessica and Mike Rimbey and Troy Weaver and Amanda Harrison; great-grandchildren: Gradyn, Eli and Ruby West and Graeson and Trace Weaver; and siblings: Clara Evans, of Fuquay-Varina, John and Pam Metcalf and Tom and Helen Metcalf, all of the Lynchburg, VA area and Wendell and Wanda Metcalf, of New Bern, NC.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Baptist Church (400 Newton Road in Raleigh) on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 AM, Family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
