

Arthur Wallace Lilley, her parents Leon Bray, Hattie Swain Bray, Perla Jane Hopkins Bray, and
Mama Pearl, her sisters Ruth Whitfield, Marjorie Lasley, and Helen Phelps,
on Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 at 4:30am.
Hattie was born in Roper, North Carolina on November 20th, 1923.
Survivors include her three daughters, Kathleen Lilley Morton, Charleen Lilley Powers, and Anna Marie Lilley Land; six treasured grandchildren, Amber Land Snell, Kristin Land Delancey,
Orry Powers, Micah Powers, Cindy Morton Rose, and Jill Morton Moulson; five great-grandchildren, Rose Marie Snell, William Kirtlee Snell Hannah Rose, Ella Rose, and Ben Moulson; three wonderful son-in-laws, Tom Morton, Mike Land, and Gary Powers; one
nephew, Rand Phelps and a niece, Linda Straughn.
Hattie attended Roper Elementary and High School, and then went on to Hardbargers Secretarial School in Raleigh, N.C.
Hattie and her husband “A.W.” served many churches, beginning with Flatwoods Christian Church in Waco, Ky., Eastway Christian Church in Charlotte, N.C., and Broadstreet Christian Church in New Bern, N.C. At each church she was active in many ways by; singing in the choirs, teaching Sunday school and establishing special study groups, including the 3-C’s at Broadstreet. She became a resident of Glenaire Health Center in Cary N.C. in November 2011. Anyone who met and knew Hattie felt blessed by knowing her, she was Truly an angel on earth!
Services will be held at Hillyer Memorial Christian Church on Friday, October 19th, 2012 at 11am. Visitation will begin at 9:45 am before the services at 11.
Graveside services will be at the Jamesville Cemetery at 3:30 pm.
