Helen Ann Jones

Helen Jones, 64, of Raleigh, NC passed away on March 14, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Emma Smith, Newfoundland, NJ. Helen is survived by her husband of 43 years, Kevin Jones of Raleigh; two sons, Brian Jones and wife Bonnie of Smithfield, NC and Kevin Jones and wife Lynn of Holly Springs and their children, Luke and Callie, who were Nana’s treasures.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by sisters, Emma Jean (Ronald) Hilbert, Franklin, NJ; Cathy (Nathan) Marion, Raleigh, NC; brother, Harold (Norma) Smith, Cogin Station, PA; brother-in-laws, Robert (Phyllis) Jones, Paducah, KY; and Ricky (Laurel) Jones, Raleigh, NC, along with many nieces and nephews.

Helen was a Real Estate agent for 26 years, most recently with Coldwell Banker and formerly Ammons Pittman Realty. She was a past member of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh and Greystone Homeowner’s Association. She will be remembered for her volunteer work with Toys-for-Tots, Susan B. Komen Foundation and St. Francis-Assisi Catholic Church. She was an avid fan of the Carolina Hurricanes, rarely missing a game. Helen lived to bring happiness to her family and joy and laughter to everyone she knew.

The family will receive friends, Friday March 16, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Mitchell’s Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. A mass will be held at St. Mary’s Chapel at the Community St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Monday, March 19, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Raleigh Memorial Cemetery.
