Helen Overton Turner peacefully drifted to her eternal home on July 7, 2020. She was born in Raleigh on June 9, 1948 to Richard Sr. and Eleanor Overton, both deceased. Her sister Nancy Overton Rice and brother Richard Overton Jr. predeceased her. She was also pre-deceased by her two sons, William “Chip” Love and Bryan Turner. She was a vibrant light in her family.
A graduate of Broughton High School in 1966 and Bucks County Community College in 1979 where she earned her degree as an RN. She also volunteered as a docent at the N.C. Museum of History. She especially loved her ECU Pirates.
She leaves behind her husband of 39 years, W. Thomas Turner, her devoted daughter Courtney Love, loving grandson Marc Kanner, brother Charles Buckley (Virginia), sister Frances Godfrey, four sister-in-laws and four brother in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and two special childhood friends, Dianne and Jessie.
A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday, July 11th at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home. A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date.
