Henry Coolidge Harvell, 86, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2012 in Winston-Salem. He was born on May 17, 1926, in Willow Springs NC, beloved son of Clarence Cleveland Harvell and Lula Adams Harvell.
Henry always said he was just a “farm boy”. He graduated from Fuquay Springs High School in 1943, and attended Campbell College, Buie’s Creek, NC in 1948 and graduated from Hogle’s Secretarial School. Henry was a veteran of the US Navy, where he earned his Radioman Certificate and later became a member of the American Radio Relay League, Inc. He was a long time truck driver and enjoyed attending Westover UMC. Henry loved helping others, whether it was assisting neighbors or family members with yard work, or delivering meals with Meals on Wheels. He will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Sanders Harvell; his brothers, Cecil, Sherlon, and Cleo; his sisters, Mildred, Iola, and Louise; and his step son, Ernest Wiggins.
Henry is survived by his nieces, Darlene Harvell, Diana Wentz, Cindy Blackburn, and Joyce Caudle; his nephews, Steve Harvell, Clifton Harvell, and Eugene Harvell. He will also be missed by his step children, Bill Gerock and his wife Holly and daughter in law, Donna Wiggins and her children, Teresa, Robert and Cheryl.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday June 23, at Montlawn Cemetery, Raleigh NC.
